Among the brave soldiers who were martyred in Kalakote was Lance Naik Abdul Majid, a member of 9 Para Commando unit, hailing from the village of Azot located on the India-Pakistan Line of Control in the Poonch district. He left leaves behind two sons, a daughter, and a wife.
