Poonch : Member Parliament for Jammu-Poonch Constituency Jugal Kishore Sharma said transparency, accountability and good governance are hallmarks of present dispensation at Centre with online monitoring of schemes and programmes, direct benefit transfer through e-Fund Management System (e-FFMS) directly into account of beneficiaries under these developmental and social assistance schemes thereby reducing pilferage of funds meant for the public.
He said this while chairing District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee meet, also known as DISHA. The meeting reviewed a myriad of centrally sponsored projects, schemes, flagship programmes and social security schemes vis a vis physical and financial achievements.
The District Development Commissioner Mohammad Aijaz Asad made a detailed presentation. It was given out that 18011 free LPG connections under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY)were provided whereas 7156 enrolments under Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY), 1579 under Atal Pension Yojana (APY) and 3687 under Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY) were made.
Under Social Welfare Schemes, a total of Rs 2.17 Cr were provided to 6231, 388, 311 and 16 beneficiaries under IGNOPS, IGNWPS, IGNDPS and NFBS respectively while as 395 Self Help Groups including 3752 unemployed women are constituted and 43.65 Lacs Revolving Fund @ 15000/SHG to 291 SHGs and 90.80 Lacs Community Investment Fund @ 40000/SHG to 227 SHGs were provided under National Rural Livelihood Mission.
Legislator Pradeep Sharma raised issues concerning upgradation of roads, water and power supply infrastructure and electrification of left out hamlets. He sought intervention of Member Parliamnet in getting sanction for WSS Sathra, WSS for Mendhar town and Poonch circular road projects.
While complimenting District Administration for making headway under various centrally sponsored schemes Jugal Kishore impressed upon concerned officers to maximise public outreach for spreading awareness about under government programmes/schemes so that entailed benefits percolate to grassroots level.
