District Development Commissioner Poonch Mohammed Aijaz Asad with a team of concerned officers visited the historic Krishan Chander and Guru Nanak parks located in the heart of the town and discussed plan for upgradation of infrastructure and beautification of parks.
Accompanied by ExEn PWD Satish Bhagat, AD Floriculture and officials of Municipal Committee the DDC inspected various sections of the parks and took stock of facilities available for visitors and cleanliness status in the parks.
During visit at historic Krishan Chander park, DDC took a micro level stock of the facilities available for citizens in the Park. He issued instructions to Assistant Floriculture officer for making the fountain functional at the earliest. Other beautification works shall also be taken up at KC Park.
In another major initiative in the district, the administration is planning to establish a mini Tulip Garden in Poonch and preliminary exercise has also been conducted in this regard. This shall be a major attraction for the people of the district and tourists. I
n this regard, department concerned and related Technical agency have directed to prepare a detailed project report for the same.
Decision was also taken for handing over of Guru Nanak Park to Floriculture Department from Municipality for its effective maintenance and functioning on routine basis.
