About 20-yr ago on July 2, 1999 militants killed nine family members of two minority families in Ari, Mendhar in Jammu province of Jammu and Kashmir. It included seven family members of a single family. Human Rights Commission awarded Rs 35 lakh as compensation to this family, which still hasn’t been given by the Jammu and Kashmir government. The attack was carried out Hizbul Mujihadeen militant outfit.
