Mumbai : INS Chennai, an indigenously designed Kolkata-class guided missile destroyer, was commissioned into the Indian Navy in Mumbai today. Union Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar commissioned the ship which is among the largest destroyers constructed in India. With length of 163 metres and displacement of over 7,500 tons, the massive ship is armed with supersonic surface-to-surface Brahmos missiles and long range surface to air missiles.
