Renowned shrine of Baba Chamliyal near the International Border in the Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir symbolizes Sufism and syncretic culture which transcends Indo-Pak borders. The saint is equally revered in Paksitan. The shrine, dedicated to Baba Dalip Singh Manhas, affectionately known as Baba Chamliyal, has historically symbolized the spirit of harmony between India and Pakistan, drawing thousands of devotees each year to the Ramgarh sector. Since June 2018, there has been no visitation from delegations representing Pakistan following the unfortunate loss of four BSF personnel, including an Assistant Commandant, in cross-border firing incidents.
