The DGP Dr SP Vaid said the security forces has averted another Uri like attack by killing four terrorists who tried to storm CPRF camp in Bandipora in North Kashmir.

“Yes .. Definitely,” said the DGP on being asked if another Uri like attack has been averted.

Four terrorists were shot dead by security forces as they  tried to  storm a CRPF camp at Sumbal in Bandipora district in North Kashmir early  Monday morning.  The DIG Nitish Kumar had  also said that the terrorists were carrying huge quantity of petrol also.

17 soldiers were martyred in a suicide attack in Uri Last September.  The tents in which soldiers were taking rest had caught fire and which also contributed to high death toll.

The DGP commenting about the NIA raids at the separatists said that law must take its course and anyone trying to derail it has to be dealt with.

The NIA had raided separatists and their supporters at many places in Kashmir, Jammu, Delhi and Harayana for two consecutive days. . The separatists were detained today by the police ahead of their meeting.

 

The DGP said the Jamat ul-Dawa has declared 2017 as year of Kashmir and they are misguiding the youth in Pakistan to launch cyber force to create mayhem in Kashmir.

“But, the police and security forces here will not let it happen,” said the DGP.’

JuD has called on people in an advertisement to join its workshops to wage social media war against in Kashmir.

The police and the security agencies in the valley believe that ahead of the Amarnath yatra  cyber war  could be launched by ‘bedroom Jehadi s’ to instigate violence ahead of the yatra.
