An Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) of Vijaypur Police Station was placed under suspension for dereliction of duty by SSP Samba, Dr Abhisheik Mahajan today. As per reports, a lady from Bazigar Basti had come to Police Station, Vijaypur with a report that the modesty of her 11 year daughter was outraged by a youth who forcibly entered their residence during the intervening night of April 16 and 17. However, the ASI on duty failed to take the cognisance of the matter and did not register the case or statement of the lady. SSP Samba said that the case has been handed over to Crime Branch and investigation started. The FIR was registered and meanwhile, he has issued suspension orders of concerned ASI for dereliction of duty.
