Jammu: Army has said it carried out punitive fire assaults at Pak posts across the LoC in Nowshera to check infiltration. The army today released the videos of its action targeting the Pak posts which It claims to have decimated.
“ A recent by of our troops in the Naushera sector has caused some damage to the Pak army posts, which is supporting infiltration. This is part of our overall strategy to counter terrorism,” Additional Director General Public Information Maj Gen Ashok Narula told the reporters.
The army had warned of strong action after two Indian soldiers were mutilated in the Nowshera sector. There has been spurt in the terrorist activities especially in Kashmir valley. Just two days back three soldiers were martyred in an operation along the LoC in Nougam sector though four infiltrators were also shot dead. One of the major concerns is local Kashmiri youth joining militancy and its number has risen to 90, which many believe is alarming.
“We want peace and tranquility in the state of the J&K. For this purpose it’s essential that infiltrations long the LoC are controlled which is essential to bring down the number of terrorists in the state so that the youth of the J&K are not adversely influenced by the terrorists from across,” said the army.
