Govt decides to invoke Essential Services Maintenance Act (ESMA) to deal with the strike called by the doctors in various health institutions of the State.
A government spokesperson said Govt can’t allow the hapless patients to suffer.
“To ensure there is no disruption of healthcare services, it has been decided that ESMA would be invoked to deal with the doctors
“Ensuring adequate healthcare services has become more imperative especially in view of the flood alert”
Doctors at Government Medical College Hospitals, including Lal Ded, are on indefinite strike since July 3 demanding pay hike.
Protesting doctors are demanding pay at par with that of resident doctors at SKIMS Soura.
