Thousands of people gathered at Hazratbal and other mosques and shrines across the Valley, including at the ‘Dast-e-Geer Sahib’ and Sayed Yaqoob Shah shrines to offer special prayers. It is the night when the Quran was revealed and praying in this night is considered to be equal to praying for 1000 months.
