Under the leadership of Senior Joint Replacement Surgeon, Dr Vikas Padha, the Orthopedics Department at SMVD Narayana Hospital Katra, achieved yet another remarkable feat when they recently completed a highly complex joint replacement surgery on a patient grappling with Advanced Osteoarthritis of both knees coupled with complex “Wind Swept” deformities. The patient, 63-year-old Sawal Singh from the remote Ram Nagar area of Udhampur district, experienced an unimaginable transformation. After years of enduring discomfort, he found himself walking effortlessly without any aid. Singh’s condition involved severe osteoarthritis in both knees, compounded by a challenging “Wind Swept” deformity wherein one knee was bent inwards and the other knee bent outwards.
