Principal Secretary PDD H Prasad said Smart Meters installations in J&K Mandatory as per the central government guidelines to get central Financial Assistance for purchasing Power. HE said onlyl 50% consumers are metered and till now 3.80 lakh smart meters have been installed. He said J&K has 55% AT&C losses which is highest in the country and smart meters are part of power reforms to lower these losses.
