Doctors at SDDM hospital ensured survival who was born at just 24 weeks of gestation and weighed only 600 grams. The Baby was born to a couple who had lost two previous babies due to prematurity. He had multiple complications, including immature lungs, brain, heart and gut, and required ventilator support for 50 days. Dr Vikas Mahajan, the neonatologist who treated the Baby, said that he faced several challenges during the course of treatment. He said the hospital also provided financial assistance to the family. The Baby was discharged from the Hospital with a weight of 2.3 kg at 2.5 months of age.
