Srinagar : Two militants were killed and a soldier died today in an encounter at Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir a police official said.
A police official said The encounter started after the militants opened fire on security forces during a cordon and search operation in Dursoo village, in Rafiabad area,
The operation was launched after specific information was received about presence of militants in the area.
Director General of Police S P Vaid said the bodies of the two militants have been recovered.
An Army official said a soldier also died during the gunbattle.
