Tributes were paid to Brig Rajinder Singh on his birth anniversary who made the supreme sacrifice on the night of 26-27 October 1947 while valiantly fighting the Pakistani raiders in Uri-Rampur sector. Also remembered as the Saviour of Kashmir, he was the first Indian recipient of Maha Vir Chakra, the second highest military award.
