Naveed Jatt top commander of LeT terrorist outfit who allegedly played a role in assassination of senior journalist Shujat Bukhari was shot dead today in an encounter in Chattergam village of Budgam.
Hailing from Pakistan , Jatt escaped from the hospital where he was brought for medical check up early this year.
Early today security forces launched a cordon and search operation in Chattergam village of Budgam. As the forces were zeroing in on target house, terrorists opened fire triggering the encounter. The authorities have snapped internet services in Budgam
In June, Bukhari, editor-in-chief of Rising Kashmir, was attacked by three bike-borne gunmen near the newspaper’s office at Lal Chowk. J&K Police said two of the three gunmen were from Kashmir and the third was a Pakistani.
