Police have seized three factories- two in Kathua and one in Samba- processing Khair Wood (Kattha).
Inspector General police (Jammu zone) SD Singh said they had received complaint on April 19 alleging these factories were involved in malpractices and serious allegations were leveled about source of wood.
He said doubts were also casted if the wood was procured under court guidelines and Forest Act.
IGP said three factories have been seized and two Special Investigation Team has been constituted to probe the irregularities. Though, no arrest has been made till now.
