Deputy Mayor of Srinagar Municipal Corporation Sheikh Imran was injured when a corporator allegedly threw some hard objects at him.
Imran said marshals were absent during the meeting and passes were issued to “goondas”. Dy Mayor alleged he was attacked at the behest of SMC Mayor Junaid Mattu and also some proxy candidates of the National Conference.
Sheikh Imran was shifted to police hospital where he was given medical treatment. Police said case was being registered
Later supporters of Sheikh Imran held protesting against the attack raised slogans against the Mayor and BJP.
