Shopian firing: Army says it feared lynching

Jammu: 15 Corps commander Lt Gen AK Bhatt  said though the incident of Shopian firing is sub judice but said the firing was done as situation had reached  where we (army)  feared lynching and loss of lives.  higher

He said the army doesn’t fire unless provocation of highest order.

“We never fired at civilians  and will never do,” he said.
