People have demanded reopening of Manda Zoo, located near Jammu city, which was closed for general public last August. Animals from Manda Zoo, comprising 12 species, were shifted to the Jambu Zoo in Khanpur Nagrota, converting Manda Zoo into a rescue center. With the closure of Manda Zoo, city residents had to travel 9.3 kilometers instead of the previous 3 kilometers to reach Jambu Zoo.
