Jammu: 71% voting was reocorded in fifth phase of the Jammu and Kashmir panchayat elections Thursday. Kashmir recorded 34% per cent Jammu registered 85% voting.
All seven districts of Jammu where polling was held recorded over 80% voting. In Kashmir region, Kupwara recorded the highest 42% polling.
4,763 candidates are in the fray for 309 sarpanch and 1,534 panch seats in the fifth phase.
118 sarpanchs and 1,046 panchs have been elected unopposed.
