Polling for the second phase of panchayat elections concluded on Tuesday. Heavy polling was registered in Jammu and there was quite good response in Kashmir.
Kishtwar registered 77%, Poonch 81%, Udhampur 83% polling.83.54% voters turnover in Rajouri district In Kashmir region till 12 am , 13 percent polling was recorded in 5 districts.
4,014 candidates were in the fray for 281 sarpanch and 1,286 panch seats in the second phase.
90 sarpanch and 1,069 panch have been elected unopposed in this phase.
