Pakistani Rangers and Border Security Force (BSF) personnel exchanged sweets on the occasion of Eid al-Adha at the Wagah Border check post on Tuesday. The exchange of sweets assumes significance given the existing strained ties between India and Pakistan. Eid al-Adha, also known as Bakrid, is celebrated on the 10th day of Dhu al-Hijjah, the last month of the Islamic calendar. As per the religious belief, Eid ul Adha is celebrated on the day when Prophet Abraham sacrifice his son, but God asked to offer an animal instead. So, he sacrificed a goat.
