Srinagar: Ganderbal police on Friday claimed they have arrested an over ground worker (OGW) affiliated with Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) militant outfit.
SSP Ganderbal Fayaz Ahmad Lone in a press briefing said that police acting on a specific information launched cordon and search operation at Lobar Mohalla Pati-Shalabug Ganderbal. During the search operation Police arrested one OGW namely Nazir Ahmad Malik son of Abdul Khaliq Malik of Lobar Mohalla Shallbug Ganderbal affiliated with HM Militant outfit.
SSP said Nazir was an over ground worker of HM and involved in providing support to HM outfit and huge quantity of incriminating material was recovered from his possession.
A case FIR number 41/2018 under section 212 Act stands registered in Police Station Ganderbal and investigation of the case is going on. More arrests are expected in coming days, SSP said.
