Deputy Commissioner Poonch Rahul Yadav has appealed for participation of all political parties in the upcoming local bodies elections. He said since the Central government has stopped funding in the absence of elected local bodies many developmental programmes in municipal areas of the district can’t be taken up due to shortage of funds. The election for Poonch and Surankote municipal committees are to be held on Oct 8 .
