Srinagar: SSP Anantnag who had contacted terrorist Rauf Khandey before his was killed in encounter said he left very bad on seeing the mother of Khandey who felt heartbroken on failing to convince Khandey to surrender Khandey was killed in an encounter in Peth Dialgam.
SSP said they received information about the presence of two terrorists in Peth Dialgam and area was cordoned off”
He said after 45-mt persuasion, they caught hold of one but Rouf Khandey, didn’t agree.
SSP said they Contacted him on phone and talked to him for 30-mt and tried to convince him that it’s not right path.
SSP said he told him what is meaning of Jihad but he didn’t agree ,
Police officer said they got his parents and who also tried convince him but he didn’t agree”
“Her mother was heartbroken and helpless and felt hapless on coming out after meeting,” said the SSP
