A trans-border smuggler was nabbed by Army authorities near the Line of Control in Balakote area of Mendhar sector of district Poonch along with two kilogram of heroin and fake currency worth Rs 10 lakhs.Official sources said that acting on a specific information, Army personnel intercepted a youth carrying a bag at Army check post near fencing at Basooni.
During frisking, 2 kilogram of heroin worth crores in the international market besides fake Indian currency worth Rs 10 lakhs was recovered from his possession.
Identified as 23-year-old Mohd Zaffar, son of Mohd Shabir, resident of Dabbi LoC village, the narcotic smuggler was taken into custody immediately.
