Jammu: Indian Railways on Tuesday introduced ‘Humsafar’ Express between Jammu Tawi and Sealdah in West Bengal. Union Minister of State for Railways Rajen Gohain flagged off the ‘Humsafar Superfast Express’, which will run on a weekly basis.

The train will depart from Sealdah on Monday and will arrive at Jammu Tawi on Tuesday in every week. In return direction, the superfast express train will run every Wednesday to arrive at Sealdah the next day.

 

. “In a bid to bring every nook and corner of the country, Indian Railways is making relentlessly efforts within its reach and soon extending train services to the Kashmir Valley and far flung areas of North East region will not be a dream,” he added.

Gohain added that safety of passengers and cleanliness of trains and stations is a priority and has witnessed a remarkable improvement for last few years. ‘Humsafar Superfast Express’ comprising of sixteen AC three tier coaches, will stop at Ludhiana, Ambala Cantt., Sahranpur, Moradabad, Bareilly, Lucknow, Varanasi, Mughalsarai, Gaya, Dhanbad and Asansol stations.
