IG Traffic Basant Rath has been transferred Alok Kumar is posted as a new IG Traffic. Basant Rath has been transferred and attached with office of Commandant General Home Guards.
Basant Rath has been quite controversial in his approach in managing traffic. Though, he had escaped in past for this seemingly rude behaviour at times, but scaled tilted against him when he had spar with SMC Mayor Junaid Matoo on Nov 8.
Matoo had tweeted that he had sought review of the traffic diversion plan in the Srinagar city. To it, Basant replied on Matoo’s time that it’s not his domain.
On Diwali, a young graduate of Jammu had alleged Basant Rath during traffic checking at Bishnah threw key of his bike and mobile in river, when he simply asked him why he is being harassed by traffic cops.
