Union home minister Rajnath Singh  called on the Governor Satypal Malik at Raj Bhawan in Srinagar. and reviewed  the security situation with top officials of army, security forces and state police.

The minister was told that that overall the security situation has improved in all three regions the Jammu and Kashmir. He was told that peaceful conduct of Amarnath Yatra and incident free ULB polls despite threats by the militants points to this fact.

The minister was told that as part of the youth engagement , 11000 youth are being recruited in security forces including 2,000 SPOs.

Rajnath Singh arrived on a day-long first visit to the Kashmir Valley after governor’s rule was imposed here in June.
