Following escape of Pakistani terrorist Naveed Jatt from Srinagar hospital on Feb 6, the hardened terrorists lodged in Srinagar Central Jail are likely to be moved out to Jammu, Uddhampur, Leh jails and kept in isolation.

There were 16 Pakistani prisoners still in Srinagar jail, of whom seven are being shifted to Jammu and discussions are on where to shift the others.

The move comes  after a high level meeting of the home ministry  held to review the security measures after the escape of the Pak terrorist.

The Union Home Ministry also asked the state government to deploy CRPF in prison security.

The home ministry official said the state government was issued instructions to immediately review security of hardened terrorists  lodged in Srinagar central jail.

The home ministry official said it has asked the Jammu and Kashmir government to fully review security measures in place in jails.

Naveed Jatt, who was lodged in Srinagar central jail., fled from a hospital after terrorists shot and killed two policemen accompanying him. He  was taken to the hospital for medical check up.
