The Centre has initiated the exercise to deport Rohingyas to Myanmar from all States.  It has  asked the State Governments to prepare “data bank” of Rohingyas.

Data bank to include  their total number, places they have settled, date of their migration and related information.The Centre has also directed all State Governments to ensure that Rohingyas don’t manage to get any kind of identity cards.

State govt directed to ensure they don’t manage to get  Aadhaar card, Voter I-cards, driving licenses, ration cards etc. The State Governments have been given one month time to gather all information about the Rohingyas.

Preparing  “data bank”  is first major step of the exercise for deporting Rohingyas to Myanmar. Rohingyas are settled Jammu and Kashmir, Haryana, Rajasthan, New Delhi, Assam and couple of other North Eastern States

There are more than 30,000 Rohingyas living in Jammu and Samba. Once “data bank” is prepared the Home Ministry will take up the issue with External Affairs Ministry
