The ‘wall of kindness’, a charitable initiative for donating clothes to needy and poor, has reached Kashmir. The charity wall, which was introduced in Iran and from there reached several other countries  has now  surfaced  in Srinagar. The well-to-do families in the city have been donating their warm clothes  and more so that those in need can use them to beat the extreme cold.

The people donating these items hang them on what has come to be known as the “Wall of Kindness” for the needy to come and take them. The wall, which is painted in black and white, has several hangers on which people can hang clothes. The clothes hanging on the wall catch the attention of people who stop to take a look. Locals have, however, appreciated the initiative.
