Srinagar : Nb Sub Hira Kan Jha died in an accident in Pulwama District.
Maj Gen SK Sharma, Chief of Staff, Chinar Corps and all ranks, paid homage to the martyr on behalf of a proud nation.
Late Nb Sub Hira Kant Jha was part of a road clearance team and sustained injuries when a private truck veered off the road and collided with the Army vehicle coming from the opposite direction in Chackot area of Awantipora in Pulwama district on 26 Mar 2018.
He was provided immediate first aid and evacuated to 92 Base Hospital and had been in ICU since then. His medical condition deteriorated despite best efforts put up by the medical team and he unfortunately succumbed to his injuries on 28 Mar 2018.
The martyr, Nb Sub Hira Kant Jha, was 45 years old and had joined the Army in 1991. He belonged to Village Brahman Toli of Nowhatta Tehsil in Saharsa District, Bihar and is survived by his wife and two sons.
The mortal remains of the martyr were flown for last rites to his native place.
