Srinagar: Army paid tribute to Late Lance Naik Nazir Ahmed Wani who died in an encounter on Nov 25th in Shopian District, wherein six terrorists were eliminated. Lt Gen AK Bhatt, Chinar Corps Commander and all ranks, paid homage to the martyr and was joined by representatives from other security agencies also joined in to pay their last respects to the martyr.
Late Lance Naik Nazir Ahmed Wani SM sustained bullet injuries during a fierce operation at Batagund Village in Shopian district. He was provided immediate first aid and evacuated to 92 Base Hospital, but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.
Naik Nazir , resident of Kulgam district in south Kashmir, was a highly decorated soldier and had been twice awarded Sena Medal for gallantry in August 2007 and in August 2018. He joined the army in 2004.
