The Indian Army has launched a community radio station (CRS) in the Kanth Bagh area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district with an aim to nurture local talent and empower the community. Named ‘Radio Baramulla’ with the tagline “Alfaaz Hamare Ehsaas Appke”, the station will operate at the frequency of 89.6 FM. The station was inaugurated by Lt Gen Rajiv Ghai, GOC Chinar Corps. GOC 19 infantry division and other officers and local youth were also present on the occasion. The station will provide coverage in Boniyar, Gantmulla, Nowshera, Sheeri, Main Town, Khawaja Bagh, Sopore, Sangrama and other adjacent areas
