The Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H) in Jammu has become the first hospital in India to have 24/7 armed security personnel deployed in its emergency wing. The decision to deploy armed guards was taken to ensure the safety and security of patients, medical staff, and visitors, particularly in the emergency wing, which often witnesses high-stress situations.
