Illegal Sand Mining: Geology and Mining Department Seizes Two Boats in Pulwama

Geology and Mining Department, Pulwama, conducted a surprise raid on Sunday evening, seizing two mechanical boats engaged in illegal sand mining in the Jhelum River. Led by District Mineral Officer (DMO) Engineer Mohammad Manzoor, the team intercepted the boats in the Awantipora area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district. The operation aimed to combat the rampant illegal sand mining in the region, causing environmental degradation and loss of revenue to the state exchequer.
