Seven labourers including six from district Udhampur and one from Ramban, were killed and at least 30 others injured when a roof of an under construction building collapsed in Meerut area of Uttar Pradesh. Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh, who happens to be the Member Parliament from Kathua-Udhampur-Doda-Ramban-Kishtwar area told Excelsior that immediately after coming to know about the unfortunate incident, he spoke to Deputy Commissioner, Meerut, Deepak Meena and took stock of the situation. Dr Singh said he told DC to provide all possible assistance to the injured persons and make prompt arrangements for shifting dead bodies of the poor workers from his constituency to their respective villages.
