Jammu: A school building damaged in 2014 floods in Poonch has still not be repaired. Students are forced to study in unsafe building for the want to just few lakhs of rupees.
Government primary school Lohara in Mandi tehsil of district Poonch was heavily damaged in floods and rain. 60 students study in just two rooms building. Teachers and locals say they have approached the concerned school authorities for its repair but nothing has been done even after four years.
The next school is about three-km away and it’s not feasible for kids to walk the hilly distance. But in the last four years authorities seemingly haven’t moved an inch to reach out to these poor kids.
